Deluxe Kidney, 3-times life-size
This anatomical model of the kidney provides contrasting colors, giant size and schematic details in full relief enhance comprehension of kidney function. This model depicts the left kidney scaled to three times life-size and parasagittally sectioned over three-fourths of its length. Shown in deep relief are the renal artery and vein, portions of the ureter, cortex, medulla, pyramids, pelvis, major and minor calyecs, internal blood supply and drainage. Nephrons are detailed in contrasting colors with the distal and proximal convoluted tubules somewhat simplified for clarity. Several loops of Henle with numerous glomeruli are schematically detailed in relief. Thirty-four structures, identified in the accompanying key, are hand numbered on the kidney.
