Attempted Laparoscopic Hernia Repair

This stock medical exhibit portrays an attempted laparoscopic hernia repair using four images in sagittal section. First, the insertion of a Foley catheter for bladder drainage is shown. The next image shows the insertion of the dissection balloon through an infra-umbilical incision into the preperitoneal space. The third image depicts the balloon inflated, expanding the peritoneal space. Lastly, insufflation gas maintains the expansion of the preperitoneal space in the fourth image.
